The Amazon Rainforest is the world largest rainforest and founded in South America.
With a total area of around 2.124 million mi². The Amazon covers nine different countries. Which are Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.
Brazil has most of the Amazon Rainforest area in it’s territory, this area correspond to 60% of its total area. The Amazon represents over half of the planet’s remaining forests.
Because of it’s great area, a large biodiversity is found in the rainforests. Different plants, trees, animals, insects and tribes live within this territory.
There is about 350 different ethic groups currently living in the Amazon Rainforest.
Even with only 350 different groups living there, everyone is dependent of the Amazon. There is so much that the Amazon Rainforest supply to us. Food, water, medicine, and keeping the climate stabilized are only some of the great benefits we gain from it.
The Amazon Rainforest is full of wonders and beauty, yet there is so much currently happening. Human action has changed a lot through the years and it continue to change.
A lot of deforestation and burn has happened with the purpose of grow cattle ranching, illegal logging, oil exploration and more.
